Welcome, I’m Lea

Medical Illustrator | Scientific Illustrator | Science Communicator

I am a professional medical and scientific illustrator based in Berlin, Germany.

I specialize in precise, engaging, and visually compelling representations of intricate scientific and medical concepts. My work bridges the gap between art and science, transforming complex concepts into accessible visuals.

With a background in general biology, I bring an understanding of scientific principles to my artistic process. This foundation enables me to accurately depict a wide range of subjects, adapting to the needs of diverse clients and projects.

By combining scientific precision with creative artistry, I strive to make complex information approachable and impactful.

How it works

Whether you're preparing a research publication, grant proposal, conference poster, or educational material, working with a scientific illustrator can significantly elevate the impact of your work.

In this section, you'll find a step-by-step guide to the illustration process—from the initial inquiry to the final delivery — so you know exactly what to expect when collaborating with me. Whether you're new to this process or have worked with illustrators before, this overview is designed to make your experience smooth, efficient, and successful.

  • When you reach out, it’s helpful if you include some details about your project. Sharing the type of illustration you’re envisioning, its intended use, and any reference images or rough sketches you might have will make the process even smoother.

I’ll review your request and get back to you promptly to schedule a meeting. Depending on your location this can take place in person, over the phone, or via video call - whichever works best for you!

After our discussion, I’ll prepare and send you a detailed quote. Once you approve it, we’ll move on to the exciting Sketch Phase!

  • After the quote is approved, I’ll create a preliminary sketch for your project and share it with you for feedback. This is the perfect time to request any adjustments or refinements to ensure the design aligns with your vision.

I’m happy to collaborate and make changes until you’re completely satisfied with the sketch. Once it’s finalized and approved, we’ll move on to the Finalization Stage.

  • In this stage, I’ll transform the approved sketch into the finished illustration. This usually involves refining the sketch, adding color, and completing all the intricate details.

Once the illustration is complete, I’ll send it to you for review. This is your opportunity to check for any mistakes and request minor adjustments to ensure everything is perfect.

Only when you’re fully satisfied with the result will I deliver the final product.
